Hush Little Baby - (The real Version)

"Hush Little Baby, don't say a word
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Papa's gonna buy you a looking glass

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Papa's gonna buy you a billy goat

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Papa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town"

So - above you have the real version of "Hush Little Baby". The one we are all familiar with. The one we could sing at the drop of a hat. The one most people know - the one most people at some point or another will attempt to sing to a crying baby at least once.

I would like to share with you - my grand daughters version. Now - mind you - she just turned 4. She really is closer to 3 than she is to 4. Picture blonde hair, blue eyes, wearing a black and white checked skirt, red top, yellow flip flops and a purple tiara that lights up when you push the button...( yes this Granny got it for her) sitting on the kitchen counter - singing ever so sweetly:

"Huth liddle baby, don't you cry
Mommath  gonna buy you a mockin' buhd.

If that mockin' buhd don't thing,
Mommath gonna buy you a ring that thineth
If that ringth that thineth turnth brath
mommath gonna buy you a lookin glath.

If that lookin glath breakth
mommath gonna buy you a cotton ball...

If that cotton ball tunth oveh...
mommath gonna buy you a gwoveh.

Thath all. "

How do you top that?

  1. Hi. I'm here as a messenger. My mom is MisssRobin, and she can't comment on your blog anymore. She doesn't want you to think she's abandoned you, her computer just won't let her comment anymore.

If you want to, she'd appreciate an email. :)
